בָּרוּךְ הַשֵּׁם • Blessed be The Name (of The Lord)!

Discover God’s Appointed Times, the true Biblical Calendar, and the feasts that point directly to Jesus the Messiah.

"For there is a proper time and procedure for every matter."
— Ecclesiastes 8:6

Though it may seem impossible to know anything with absolute certainty, we are still expected to seek truth and obey, in our understanding, with all of our heart, mind, body and soul.

31...Jesus said, "If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. 32Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."
- John 8:31-32

Our biggest obstacle to discovering the truth is our own cognitive biases. These biases blind us to truths that often become obvious only in hindsight. We tend to cling to the first information we receive, to familiar ideas, and to what is socially acceptable.

"The heart of the discerning acquires knowledge, for the ears of the wise seek it out."
— Proverbs 18:15

For leaders, even the thought of adopting a new teaching that could cost them their audience, congregation, or job can cause their subconscious to fiercely defend their current beliefs rather than accept an inconvenient truth.

"But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror… But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does."
- James 1:22-25

God is truth, and He seeks those who humbly submit to Him. The fear of the Lord teaches wisdom, and humility comes before honour. We must first humble ourselves so that our eyes can truly see and our ears can truly hear new wisdom.

“Do you know the ordinances of the heavens? Can you establish their rule on the earth?”
— Job 38:33 (ESV/NKJV)

What knowledge is more valuable than understanding God's appointed times?
These are the special days He has set apart to meet with mankind. Sacred appointments that serve as shadows pointing us to the true substance of Jesus. Without this knowledge, we are lost. We walk in darkness and stumble because we lack the light of His truth. Even when we observe the Sabbath and the feasts with sincere intentions on the 'popular days', our good intentions done in ignorance are still unintentional sins.

"God overlooked people's ignorance about these things in earlier times, but now he commands everyone everywhere to repent of their sins and turn to Him."
— Acts 17:30

Many attempt to remain ignorant, to avoid knowledge, and trust in God's mercy on the ignorant; however, wilful ignorance leads to destruction.

"My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge; because you have rejected knowledge, I reject you from being a priest to me. And since you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children."
— Hosea 4:6

Sin always has consequences, even if we are ultimately forgiven; therefore, we should seek the Truth in all things and once discovered we should obey the Truth because Jesus is the Truth. Let us not make a habit of practicing lawlessness and always remember this warning from Jesus:

"Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’ "And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you who practice lawlessness.’"
— Matthew 7:22-23

We are not saved by our obedience to His law, but our effort at obeying is the evidence of a renewed heart. Obedience can never repay the debt we owe; however, continued disobedience will continue to defile and wilful, unrepentant disobedience is tantamount to the rejection of Jesus and the Spirit of Grace. It is only by the blood of Jesus and his mercy that we are forgiven and the debt of our sins is paid. Obedience is the visible evidence/proof of genuine saving faith.

“Faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead… As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead.”
- James 2:14-26 (esp. v. 17, 26)

Jesus is clear on why He has come; and also directly instructs us to follow His commands.

“Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.
- Matthew 5:17
“If you love Me, keep My commands.”
- John 14:15
"We know that we have come to know Him if we keep His commands"
- 1 John 2:3-6

Jesus has an immutable nature and never changes. Therefore we can accept that if He commanded those who follow Him those commands are still valid for us today.

"God does not change His mind, nor is He human that He should lie."
- Numbers 23:19
"I the LORD do not change."
- Malachi 3:6
"Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever."
- Hebrews 13:8

Let us not waste time, as time isn't promised to anyone.

"Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring."
- Proverbs 27:1
"Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes."
- James 4:13-17
"Seek the LORD while He may be found; call on Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake their ways and the unrighteous their thoughts. Let them turn to the LORD, and He will have mercy on them, and to our God, for He will freely pardon."
- Isiah 55:6-7
